Stella's First Birthday - A Haute Mom Never Does It Alone

I know all us haute moms dream about the grand 1st birthday party that we are all going to throw our little ones.  It is natural for us since, as haute moms, we thrive on party planning.  And not just any old party planning, but THEMED party planning!  Secretly, I started months ago when I bought a hot pink zebra birthday banner for Stella from Bannerparty.  I couldn't draw myself away from the sassy hot pink and zebra print in the banner - I felt it was a definite match for Stella's personality.

After the theme was decided, I just couldn't help myself.  My hubby thought I was "getting a little nuts" with the zebra print and hot pink but I shrugged him off as we haute moms do and continued on my merry planning.  We decided to have the party at our tiny little house even though we were expeting about 40 people to come.  My hubby was in charge of cleaning and I took care of the rest.  We invited friends and family and were shocked at the turn out! 

Etsy was a HUGE help in finding matching decorations and items.  Kenzy Bug supplied hot pink zebra gift bags, matching tutus, and even a matching tank top and bows for me and the family.  Her stuff was DARLING and reasonable!  I bought matching cupcake toppers from Get The Party Started that were seriously one of the greatest things I have spent money on in a long time.  The toppers had different messages on them and, of course, fit right in with the theme.  She had so many cute things to buy for themed birthdays but I had to restrain myself.  They came super fast too!  Last but not least, I have to mention the cupcakes.  I got them from Delightful by the Dozen, a local cupcake maker who has the most delicious cupcake AND they deliver! She had a fantastic choice of flavors and she even dyed some of the frosting hot pink to go with the colors!

Fashion Friday

This Fashion Friday is featuring something for both moms and the little ones, from the same great designer. Kris Petit grew up as a knitter, weaver, and sewer. Therefore, it was only natural for her to do some knitting when she became pregnant with her daughter, Willa. One of her greatest creations was a pair of knit, angora booties which turned into Yo My Booties, the hautest baby item around. So haute, they have been seen on many celebrity babies.

Thrifty Thursday...even though it's Monday.

This deal is to good to wait until Thrifty Thursday to post! This week's Thrifty Thursday is something that will get all you haute moms excited, and not just because of the deals!  I have found a website called Plum District that is specifically for us savvy moms and our families.  They offer local deals everyday, at a great discount.  All you have to do is sign up, and every day you will receive at least one email to an unbeatable deal in your area.  The deals will range from baby products, to discount on haute clothing brands, spa treatments, and excercise classes.  Yesterday, I purchased a customized book for Stella, normally $40 for just $19!  You purchase online and then receive a printable voucher to use.  In my case, I simply entered the code online without having to print anything out or leave the couch! Today you can get $20 of Kidz Bop merchandise for just $10.  What a perfect way to stuff those stockings without having to battle the Christmas rush!  I love waking up in the morning and seeing what great deals await me!  Even better, they give an extra $5 off if you purchse in your first seven days. Thrifty Thursday

I haven't posted a Thrifty Thursday in a while because quite frankly, it is hard to find a good deal out there! Has anyone noticed that? With the state of the economy aren't businesses supposed to be giving us deals!? I finally found one that will fit perfectly in with all of you haute moms - Living Social! Living Social is a website that provides local deals near your area. It allows you to search for cities which also means if you are travaling or doing a Mom's Night Out and want to venture farther, you can find deals outside of your area as well. I searched Orange County, CA deals this morning and found a lot of great stuff for the haute mom like spa treatments at various OC spas for up to 71% off! That's right! A massage for $25 at a ritzy OC spa. They also has hot air balloon rides which I thought would make for a nice gift. It doesn't matter where you live so everyone can join and find a city near you!
